Villa Kailasha is a stunning three-bedroom villa resting upon an expansive 11,000 square metres of beachside land in Bali’s fertile Tabanan regency. With its series of single-storey pavilions leisurely spread across the breadth of a terraced coconut grove garden, its elegant interiors and its blend of modern, antique and Dutch-colonial-inspired furnishings, colourful fabrics and artwork, Villa Kailasha embraces contemporary-tropical style.
Offering a complete escape from busy city life, Villa Kailasha will charm guests with classic architecture, stylish interiors, gorgeous gardens, modern facilities and an extraordinary amount of private space, complemented by a full team of caring staff who will attend to every need. Villa Kailasha is ideal for a family or a small group of friends, while its velvety lawns are perfect for weddings and other celebrations against the awesome backdrop of the sea.
Villa Kailasha is approached via a neat driveway which opens into a large parking area with the villa on the seaward side and the staff service building discretely tucked away on the inland side below an orchard garden. An impressive porte cochere bordered by ponds heralds the entrance to the villa. Behind this is the comfortable living pavilion. Some distance to the left, two-bedroom guesthouse offers a peaceful retreat while on the other side of the gardens the master suite presents complete privacy with its own plunge pool for relaxing in during leisurely afternoons or under clear, star-filled skies at night. To the right lie the dining pavilion and the master suite. The swimming pool and comfortably furnished balé are positioned close to the beach on the far side of the gardens to make the most of the glorious sea views.
Villa Kailasha is entered via a porte cochere from a spacious private parking area. Separate open-sided living and dining pavilions look out over water features, paved pathways and an immaculate lawn. Hidden in the gardens to the left of the living pavilion, the single-storey guesthouse presents two almost-identical bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. To the far right of the villa grounds, the secluded single-storey master suite comprises a bedroom, bathroom, dressing areas, and private plunge pool with sun deck and balé pavilion. The 14-metre infinity-edge swimming pool, poolside balé and yoga deck, are positioned on the garden’s seaward side to maximise the ocean view.
Master suite - Villa Kailasha’s air-conditioned master suite, with its high roof and cushioned window seat, is furnished with a king-size bed upon a raised platform and two comfortable wicker armchairs. This spacious room is equipped with a ceiling fan, satellite-channel TV and fridge. Guests will relish the views from the bed across the garden and pool to the ocean beyond, which are reflected perfectly in the mirror behind the bed as well. At the back of the room is a large dressing area with fitted wardrobes, plus a huge bathroom with a wide vanity unit, a walk-in rain shower and a bathtub looking into a private garden complete with an outdoor shower. Glass doors lead from the vanity area, directly into the private six square metre plunge pool, complete with a deck and thatched balé pavilion furnished with a table and two chairs.
Guesthouse - The guesthouse presents two almost identical guest suites next door to one another within a private, partially walled courtyard complete with ornamental pond. The bedrooms feature sliding louvre shutters over glass doors, marble floors and high roofs. Each air-conditioned room is furnished with a king-size bed and armchairs, and equipped with ceiling fan, satellite-channel TV and dressing areas with fitted wardrobes. The bathrooms offer twin washbasins upon wide vanity units, walk-in rain showers and bathtubs set alongside picture windows overlooking private gardens.
Presiding over the graceful gardens, Villa Kailasha’s splendid living pavilion is so big that it provides a choice of three discrete sitting areas before extending onto a wide, partially-sheltered stone terrace fringed by ponds. From here, you can survey the pool and ocean, enjoy alfresco meals at a teakwood table for eight on the terrace, or gather to watch movies on the large flat-screen TV.
A small guest kitchen is tucked away adjacent to the living pavilion. It is equipped with an oven and gas hob, a large fridge, a microwave, and a coffee machine. The villa’s main kitchen is located behind the villa and is fully fitted with a professional range and everything that the cook needs to prepare delicious meals and beverages for guests.
More soft breezes and cool garden views set the tone in the dedicated dining pavilion, which rests in a courtyard and is linked to the main living pavilion by a short pathway. This is the perfect venue for a convivial lunch that could segue effortlessly into a more formal dinner for 10. Here, a simple open-sided design, a soaring roof and a neutral aesthetic ensures that nothing detracts from the tropical surroundings, the food, and one’s companions.
The expansive garden provides an astonishing setting for a wedding, showcasing beautifully manicured lawns dotted with coconut palms and flowering frangipanis. On the far side, positioned well away from the house and bordered by a grass-and-paving-stone chequerboard terrace, is the infinity-edge swimming pool, and next to this is a lazy, breezy gazebo – the obvious spot for devouring a book, enjoying afternoon cocktails at the table, or taking a snooze on the deep mattress. And what better place could there be for a relaxing massage or a rousing yoga session than the pool-gazebo’s upper deck, which embraces an awe-inspiring picture of the sunsets and ocean waves.

DINING AT KAILASHA
Villa Kailasha offers a dining service and menu with a wonderful array of international and local dishes. Many Western meals are available, but we recommend you to try some of the cook’s Indonesian and Balinese dishes for a true cultural experience. Should you have a request for a dish not on the menu, or a special dietary requirement, please feel free to ask the chef, who will strive to comply with all of your wishes.
While the villa has a fully equipped kitchen for food preparation, it is not a restaurant and cannot support each individual guest ordering different foods for same dining periods. If you have a large group it is advisable that the group dines on the same dish or that you order several dishes to be shared.
Food and beverage items are charged based on grocery cost system. Guests will be requested to provide a cash float in advance, and the staff will do the shopping for you and keep the receipts for your reference. In view of Villa Kailasha’s remote location, please allow at least one day’s notice, and feel free to discuss any requirements with the cook, butler or villa manager.
FAMILIES AT KAILASHA
The family friendly advantages of a villa holiday are many, including access to your own private facilities and the freedom to use them whenever you want. Knowing that the kids can run around happily, independently and safely, without you having to worry about other guests, is a real plus – and one that means parents are certain to have a more relaxed holiday too. Kids will love the wide open spaces at Villa Kailasha, however toddlers will need to be carefully supervised around the swimming pool, plunge pool and fish ponds.
The team of friendly staff at Villa Kailasha will make children feel as welcome as adults, and having these willing helpers on hand gives guests plenty of flexibility and freedom to do their own exploring beyond the villa grounds (full-time babysitting incurs a small extra cost)
Although the equipped kitchen allows you to prepare meals for fussy eaters or babies with ease, staff will happily to do this for you – just talk through your requirements and meal schedules with the villa manager or chef and they will take care of the rest. The cook can customise all meals to suit children’s taste buds. And don’t worry about packing all that cumbersome kids’ equipment for your stay. Just let us know what you need; anything we don’t have in-house we can hire on your behalf.
