Bukit Jambul is come from the word of Bukit that is meaning of hill and Jambul that is meaning of crest. Bukit Jambul is a beautiful place a green hill and rice terrace under it. In this plateau, we will see the beautiful valley that is encircled by the fertile tropical tree with the rice terrace as main focus. From this place, we can see the beautiful view afar with the background of hill, tropical trees and ocean.

Bukit Jambul is one of tourist destination in Bali with the beautiful landscape of Rice Terrace but from top of the famous hill in Bali. It is located in The traditional village of Pesaban, Nongan Village, Rendang District, Karangasem Regency, Bali, Indonesia. Bukit Jambul is also located 8 km from Klungkung Regency, 51 km from Denpasar or 15 km from Besakih Temple.

The name of Bukit Jambul was firstly given during the Dutch invasion in Indonesia by a tourist, who was inspired by a high hill standing on the south of the main road connecting Klungkung regency and Besakih of Karangasem regency. There is a Hindu Temple called Pura Pucak Sari on the top of the hill, which is surrounded by big trees. Below the temple complex there is a stunning panorama of rice fields. This makes the trees look like a tufting hair from a distance ( Bukit = hill, Jambul = Tuft of hair). Combines with amazing nature, Bukit Jambul is one of best tourist destination who seek tranquility.
