The Mahogany Villa is a honeymoon villa Ubud Bali nestled in the traditional Balinese village of Sumita, set on the edge of a deep jungle valley with views over the Pakerisan River. Because the villa sits far from busy tourist areas, guests hear nothing but birdsong, river sounds, and the wind through the trees. In addition, the architecture and mahogany wooden interiors reflect extraordinary Balinese craftsmanship, making every corner of the estate feel like a work of art.

The Villa

Built across approximately 2,700 sqm, the estate consists of three buildings: a master bedroom, a guest bedroom, and an open Bale Bengong gazebo. Because the villa is fully private and secluded, it feels like your own little world — ideal for couples or small groups seeking peace and authenticity. A private parking area and security corner are also included.

Bedrooms

Master Bedroom
The master bedroom features a high traditional ceiling, marble floors, mahogany wooden interiors, and full-length glass windows looking out over the valley. For example, guests can enjoy breakfast at the in-room seating area while listening to the river below. The room includes a canopied double bed, a sofa-bed with TV, reading chairs, and a small kitchenette for drinks and simple meals. The en-suite bathroom features a built-in bathtub where you can bathe with the sounds of nature in the background. A large outdoor toilet looks directly onto the jungle.

Guest Bedroom
Located higher up the cliff in a private pavilion with direct pool access, the guest bedroom offers light blue walls, mahogany furniture, a canopied king-size bed (convertible to twins), a mini bar, a safety deposit box, and an en-suite bathroom with a tropical waterfall shower pouring from a Balinese stone-carved creature.

Bale Bengong – Living Area

Instead of a conventional living room, The Mahogany Villa offers a Bale Bengong — an open-air rectangular gazebo with purple curtains, antique sofas, and a circular wooden table. As a result, it becomes the perfect spot for meditation, yoga, reading, or romantic alfresco dining with candles and soft music. The surrounding garden and wide tropical valley view make this living area truly unique.

Infinity Pool and Garden

On the edge of the cliff sits a stunning infinity pool measuring 6m x 2m with a depth of 1.5m, complete with small jacuzzi jets. Furthermore, the Buddha terrace beside the pool offers a peaceful spot to have drinks at an antique table, surrounded by Buddha sculptures and lush greenery. Deck loungers and parasols are available for sunbathing or reading poolside.

Guests enter through a traditional Balinese gate where a Buddha sculpture warmly welcomes them. Stone steps lined with manicured gardens lead down the valley to the villa pavilions.

Dining

Breakfast is included in the rate. In addition, a menu of Indonesian and Balinese dishes is available for lunch and dinner at a modest additional cost. The villa chef can adjust seasoning and accommodate special dietary needs including gluten free and vegetarian options with advance notice. Because all food and beverage items are charged at cost price plus a 20% service charge, guests are encouraged to ask for a daily tally.

It is far away from touristic places but near to attractive and historic places. We will make your holiday to a new experience, like only private and family friends can find. After a trip thru little street villages with woodcarving handicraft workshops and original Bali-images we welcome you at the villa. Our friendly staff will give you a warm greeting and make your arrival comfortable.

The villa is located in Br. Siih – Sumita – Gianyar, it is about 30 minutes from Ubud and approximately 1,5 hours from Ngurah Rai International Airport. The villa location is very strategic, because being close to several tourist attractions, such as Kintamani, Tirta Empul, Goa Gajah, etc. For those who would discover Bali can start the trip from The Villa effectively.

Beautiful villa; way out in the jungle. A fortress of solitude. A great place to be close to nature. Everywhere we looked we discovered treasures of nick nacks all throughout the rooms. The staff was very accomodating. You definitely have to be ok with insects; they are your close neighbors...but so are the flowers and trees. Would definitely stay here again.

This place is gorgeous! Everything we expected and even more. We were on the move a lot so we weren’t able to eat there as much as we would have liked but what we did eat was absolutely amazing with a great presentation. The staff was so helpful and kind! Thank you so much for everything!

The Mohogany villa is truly a one of a kind gem. We stayed here for 6 nights and had a great time. I would reccomend getting a driver daily to and from the villa as it is a little bit out of the ways (about 40 minutes from Ubud Center) but overall great experience and would stay here again for sure!

Unbelievably beautiful luxury villa surrounded with a fairy tale garden. We have chosen the villa for our honeymoon and we can't imagine anything more romantic. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They have really done their best to make our stay perfect, even if sometimes it required additional effort. The villa is situated in a very quiet place, where you can enjoy the nature of Bali. On the first night it took us some time to get used to the sounds made by geckos and insects but we got used to them very fast. Stay on the villa requires proper planning. It is situated pretty far away from the city, that means that you have to plan at least one day in advance all your meals and your trips (no taxis around, but villa offers a very friendly driver who can show you great places around). Although the villa is far away from Ubud, it gave us a chance to visit some interesting places that are near to the villa and that we would miss otherwise.

Absolutely peaceful place - it is all yours - the pool, the gazebo with valley view, the garden, the main vila,the outside gazebo for dinner... and the outside bathroom. As we step in, we couldn't even speak) It was completely like our Bali home - located in a nice small village, you are surrounded just by jungle in absolute privacy. Outside the villa you will meet only the local people, no tourists, no cars, no nothing - you can feel yourself like you belong there) For your service you have 2 ketuts there, they are maintaining the property and also keeping your privacy. In the evening they light up the candles and prepare very tasty dinner which you can enjoy in the outside gazebo - it was like from a romantic movie:)) The villa staff arranged a driver for us - Mr. Buda - he had perfect English and he later become our Bali guide and took us everywhere we wanted:) No matter it is far away from Ubud - it is perfect place for trips to the North - where are the best tracks and waterfalls and temples which are still not crowded. So many thanks to all the staff and the manager Ita and our driver, they were all taking care of us and doing their best) So if you seek quiet place with no tourists, no hustle and bustle, just beautiful nature in the middle of traditional Bali village - this place is just for you!)

GuestAmazing stay in the most relaxing and comfortable villa in Bali We’ve stayed in the Mahogany Villa for one week in June, and everything was great!

The one-bedroom house is comfortable, with nice furniture and lots of space, toilet clean and with good shower, and the swimming pool just in front of it amazing. The guys working for the villa were very welcoming and always ready to help, and they prepared great food... served in a beautiful gazebo surrounded by flowers and jungle, both breakfasts and dinners were perfect! Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, amazing Balinese soups, grilled fish and meat, noodles and rice, even good cocktails and countless bintang... making Italians happy with food is always difficult, and they made it :) The villa is just besides a small traditional Balinese village of woodcarvers, friendly people, half an hour drive from Ubud (or more, depends on the traffic which is sometimes crazy in Bali)... from the parking it's 2 minutes walk down the hill, and entering the villa you also enter the jungle, all around you! And, if you want to be really alone in the nature, you can walk down through steps from the villa to a small platform. From there, you can hear the river at the bottom and all the noises of the jungle, really amazing place :) The place is perfect to relax, with even a second gazebo for Balinese massages, which we loved (only 8 euros or so for more than an hour)... and there's plenty of activities to do from there too, either renting a car (driving in Bali is interesting!!) or with a driver... we did a lot, also with the help of the manager of the villa: rice terraces, ubud, climb of batur, many temples everywhere, the lakes in the north, and a traditional indu cerimony in the villa :) Overall, we loved the stay here, far from the chaos of the touristic areas, surrounded by nature but with all the comforts & good food we could think of... definitely we'll come back if we get the chance!
