Overlooking the majestic Indian Ocean, The Shanti Residence was envisioned as a sanctuary “Beyond the Ordinary.” Founded by Kumar Manchharam and designed by renowned Balinese architect Popo Danes, the villa first opened its doors in 2007 — a celebration of artistry, tranquility, and heartfelt service.
The residence’s legacy deepened through the Shanti Foundation, established in honor of Kumar’s late mother, Shanti — a name symbolizing peace. The foundation’s mission of compassion and education continues to reflect the spirit that defines the residence itself.
Following a transformative renovation in 2016 under the creative direction of the late designer Jaya Ibrahim, The Shanti Residence stands today as a refined retreat that harmonizes contemporary elegance with the soul of Bali — offering a truly bespoke escape for those seeking life’s finer moments.

Cancellation and refund policy
- Cancel > 61 days before arrival: Deposit refunded less a fee of USD 500 OR 20% of the total rental amount received (whichever is greater).
- Cancel < 61 days before arrival: No refund (100% of deposit/payment is forfeited).
- *For Christmas/New Year, the cut-off is 91 days.
