Bali, currently one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, attracts millions of foreign and domestic tourists every year. One of the main attractions of Bali is its well-preserved nature and culture.
Given the above, the maintenance and preservation of Bali’s natural and cultural heritage are essential to ensure it remains intact and to provide comfort to all tourists visiting Bali.
In order to realize the sustainability and comfort of tourists while vacationing in Bali, the Bali Provincial Government through the BALI PROVINCIAL REGULATION NUMBER 6 OF 2023 ON THE COLLECTION FROM FOREIGN TOURISTS FOR THE PROTECTION OF CULTURE AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT IN BALI has decreed that starting February 14, 2024, a fee of IDR 150,000 will be charged to all foreign tourists visiting Bali.
The purposes of collecting this fee from foreign tourists are as follows, according to Bali Provincial Regulation Number 6 of 2023:
- Protection of customs, traditions, arts-culture, and local wisdom of the Balinese people;
- The glorification and maintenance of Culture and Natural Environment which are the Tourist Attractions in Bali;
- Improvement of the quality of service and the organization of Cultural Tourism in Bali;
- To serve as a guideline in the implementation and management of the Collections from Foreign Tourists.
